Help us to evaluate the Multi-agency Hub

Published: June 2, 2026

If you’ve cared for a child whose parent or caregiver is in prison, we’d like to hear about your experience.

We’re working with an independent consultancy, Allen + Clarke to evaluate the Multi-agency Hub (the Hub).

The Hub supports tamariki and rangatahi whose sole parent or carer has been sent to prison, and those caring for them. It’s a collaboration of government agencies led by Oranga Tamariki. These agencies include NZ Police, Department of Corrections, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Education and Health NZ.

Share your experience

The Hub has been set up to improve how these services work together and how they share information. This evaluation looks at how well it’s working, including how it supports tamariki, rangatahi and whānau.

If you’ve cared for tamariki or rangatahi whose parent or caregiver is in prison, we’d like to talk to you. We want to hear about your experience was with things like how care arrangements were made, what information and support you received, what worked well, and what could have been better.

Your insights will help improve how agencies support tamariki, rangatahi and whãnau in the future.

What’s involved in the evaluation

You’ll be invited to take part in a 30–45 minute kōrero about your experience. We can meet by phone or online (e.g. Zoom), and you’re welcome to bring a support person.

You don’t have to answer any questions you’re not comfortable with.
