Data Exchange

We are changing the way we share data with our partners to improve the security, accuracy, and quality of the data that we hold.

How it works

Data Exchange is a 2-way tool that enables partners and Oranga Tamariki to share data securely. It ensures that data required to meet the Care Standards can be collected automatically to reduce the burden on care partners.

Data Exchange is being rolled out in a phased approach. Each care partner will be onboarded on an individual basis with an ‘information sharing agreement’ signed by both parties.

Data Exchange is run by Aotearoa New Zealand based company Eightwire. You can find out more about the Data Exchange tool in this short video.

Information to be shared

The information requirements below list the baseline quantitative information that Oranga Tamariki will need to collect to demonstrate the meeting of our legal obligations. This information will be collected through the Data Exchange and will be used alongside the Quality Assurance Framework qualitative measures.

The quantitative information will be supplemented by richer information shared during locally-led reflective conversations and during discussions with other stakeholders, including frontline kaimahi. For more information, visit the Quality Assurance page.
